Your Super. Your Values. Built for the Long Term.
When you choose where to invest your super, you are making a decision that may last for decades.
So, it is completely reasonable to want confidence not only in how your money is invested, but also in the strength and stability of the organisation looking after your retirement savings.
For Salaam Super members, there is an important point that we want every member to understand:
Salaam Super combines Salaam Wealth Funds Management's Shariah investment expertise with the administration and governance infrastructure of the Russell Investments Master Trust, part of the Russell Investments group.
Salaam Super is part of a broader superannuation structure
Salaam Super is a division of the Russell Investments Master Trust, with Total Risk Management Pty Limited (TRM) as Trustee.
This means Salaam Super benefits from being part of a much larger Australian superannuation structure rather than having to build and maintain all the infrastructure of a superannuation fund on its own.
The Russell Investments Master Trust has approximately $13 billion in assets and 80,000 members1.
As part of the Russell Investments Master Trust, Salaam Super operates within established administration, governance, technology, compliance and operational infrastructure.
It is an important part of the strength behind Salaam Super.
And behind that sits a global investment organisation
Russell Investments has a history stretching back to 1936 and today operates across major financial markets around the world.
As at 30 June 2026, Russell Investments managed approximately A$602 billion (US$417 billion) globally, serving clients across 30 countries and operating from 17 cities worldwide.
To put that into perspective, that is more than half a trillion Australian dollars under management globally.
In practical terms, Salaam members benefit from the same administration, governance and compliance infrastructure applied across the whole Master Trust, supported by Russell Investments' global systems.
But what about the Islamic investment strategy?
This is perhaps the most important part of the relationship.
Salaam is responsible for the Shariah investment philosophy and framework that determines how Salaam superannuation members’ money is invested.
Our partnership with Russell Investments does not mean compromising the Islamic principles upon which Salaam Super was established.
Salaam determines the Shariah investment framework, including the principles, screens and exclusions that apply to Salaam investments, supported by specialist Shariah advisers.
Salaam’s investment framework adopts the globally recognised Shariah standards developed by the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), while our investments are independently reviewed and audited by our external Shariah adviser, Dar Al Sharia.
This means members can benefit from the scale and capabilities associated with the Russell Investments Master Trust while Salaam continues to ensure that the investment approach remains consistent with the Islamic principles our members expect.
It is an important distinction.
Russell Investments provides institutional scale and capability. Salaam provides the specialist Islamic investment expertise and Shariah framework.
Designed with the future in mind
We understand that members may occasionally see changes occurring across the broader superannuation industry and naturally ask questions about their own fund.
Our members should know that Salaam has deliberately built its superannuation offering around partnership rather than trying to operate every component of a superannuation fund independently.
We believe this provides a stronger and more sustainable model.
Salaam can concentrate on what we do best – understanding and serving our community, developing Shariah-compliant investment solutions and ensuring Islamic principles remain at the centre of the investment process.
At the same time, our members benefit from the institutional infrastructure and global capabilities associated with Russell Investments.
It means Salaam does not have to choose between being a specialist Islamic investment provider and having access to the capabilities of a major global financial institution.
Our members benefit from both.
Here for the long term
Salaam’s ambition has always been bigger than simply providing another superannuation product.
We want Australian Muslims to have access to high-quality financial products throughout every stage of their financial lives without having to compromise their values.
Superannuation is a fundamental part of that commitment.
As Salaam grows, our partnership with Russell Investments provides a strong institutional foundation from which we can continue to develop Salaam Super and serve our members for decades to come.
So while the world around us – and the superannuation industry itself – will continue to change, the principles behind Salaam Super remain clear:
Established institutional infrastructure.
Global investment capability.
Specialist Shariah expertise.
And an ongoing commitment to our members and their values.
Your super. Your values. Your future.
